As you Portland Personal Trainer we will get those muscled pumping with what is called the lactic acid buildup in your body.
There are many ways of doing this, mainly when you are trying to breakout of a slump or have you have plateaued in your exercises. One way is doing super sets which is 2 exercises in a row without rest such as the same muscle or different muscles, example chest press and then bicep curls. Other ways is strip sets doing the same muscle group going from heavy weight as many as you can to lighter weight as many as you can until you are done lifting the weight, also known as burnouts. You can also go light to heavy as well. Also tri-sets which is the same as super sets with 3 exercises in a row. Then of course the Giant set which is 4-6 exercises in a row with no rest in between with the same muscle or different muscles. With different muscles there is no need to rest in between sets during a giant set. Another way is doing and exercise with a 2-3 second isometric hold. Example do a squat and while you go down, hold it for 2-3 seconds and then explode coming up.
